Our kit includes a small orange Y-Splitter (shown below). This splitter provides positive battery voltage to the port injector harness and the ignition coils.

First locate connector X60053 (Green) inside the DME box (shown below in green)

Using a pick, depress the tab to the left on the back of the connector that attaches it to the DME box and pull up to slide the connector off it’s mount. Depress the two tabs on the side and separate the male and female portions of the connector.

Next locate the wire in pin position 8 of the male connector (labels are inside the connector), its terminals have tabs (male) instead of sockets (female). We will be removing this wire from the connector. Begin by inserting a depinning tool into the locking tab seen below circled in red. Twist the depinning tool and the tab should release rotate away from the connector body.

Once the locking tab is open, depress the terminals tab (circled in red below) with the depinning tool while applying light pressure on the wire to pull the terminal out of the connector body.

With the wire now removed from position 8, locate the thickest wire on the Y-Splitter with a tab (male) terminal. Insert this terminal into position 8 and insert the thinner wire on the Y-Splitter with a tab into position number 7 as shown below.

Add the included heatshrink over the female terminal end of the Y-Splitter and plug the original wire that was in position 8 into the female terminal end of the Y-Splitter (shown below in red)

Center the heatshrink over the terminal connection and recover the heat shrink with a heat gun. This will keep the terminals connected and provide electrical insulation.

Next insert the orange wire with blue seal on the fuel injector harness into the female connector into position 7 as shown below circled in red.

Warning

When inserting the terminal(s) into the female connector make sure the terminal is oriented as shown below the green check mark. This will make connecting the two connectors together easier. If you accidently insert the terminal(s) in the wrong orientation it will still work but it may take considerable force to get the two halves of the connector to mate.

Tip

If you have not purchased one of our ignition coil connectors and are reusing your stock ignition coil harness then you are now finished with the green connector. Mate the two halves together and remount them inside the DME box; otherwise continue with the below steps.

To remove the stock ignition coil harness you will need to depin the terminal & wire in position 8 of the female connector. This connector is difficult to depin so take your time and have patience. The terminal has locking tabs on the top and bottom that need to be depressed for the wire to be removed. We recommend using two depinning tools, one pushed above the terminal and the other below it with one on each end of the connector as shown below. This will help prevent the top locking tab on the connector from being broken. Once the depin tools have been inserted, rotate the bottom one a couple of times to depress the tab on the terminal. While the depinning tools are inserted apply moderate force on the wire to pull it out of the connector.

Tip

Insert the orange wire on the ignition coil harness into position 8 on the green female connector until it clicks as shown below in red. Mate the two connector halves together and remount them inside the DME box. You are now finished with this step.
