Tools you will need

  • Basic tools such as sockets, wrenches, hammer and etc.

  • Towels for fuel spills

  • Depinning tools

  • Heat gun

  • Nylon pipe brush

Basic Disassembly

  • Disconnect battery

  • Remove cowl

  • Remove engine cover

  • Open DME box

  • Remove factory fuel injectors

  • Remove fuel rail and high pressure fuel pump

  • Open fuel injector & ignition coil harness plastic housing (mounted to the valve cover) if you still have it.

Now you are ready to depin and remove the factory fuel injector harness. Follow the depinning steps outlined below and pull the factory harness out of the DME box towards the engine.

Only perform the depinning process at this time. The end of the depinning process is designated by a purple message like this one.

Fuel Injector Harness Removal


If you are replacing the factory ignition coil harness with one of ours, follow the depinning steps outlined below and pull the factory harness out of the DME box towards the engine.

Ignition Coil Harness Removal

The generalized disassembly process is now complete. Proceed with installation.
